Normally I work on wood panels, but recently I’ve been experimenting with canvas, and I’ve been loving the results.

Thanks for sharing this idea! Years ago I worked on tent canvas trying to find a way to have a strong enough support to hold up to the ‘abuse’ of my working. I did find I could move it around and fold it, etc. I didn’t stretch it but put grommets in the top corners and hung it that way – it was heavy enough to hang properly. I do love that your system of tacking it to the panel backing allows for the up and down movements of your surface. You inspire me to get busy!!!!
Hi Nicholas, I’m an European artist.Here we
often paint on canvas. In fact, the canvas is the preffered surface for me. I use it exactly as you put it in the video and also I used to stretching it on a wooden chassis.In this way it has more flexibility.
