The Power of Difference

In life, it is important that we remain open to different experiences, just like in art. And as we absorb those new experiences we grow as people, and in turn so does our art. The two are inextricably connected.

    When teaching, I talk about “differences” a lot…especially with my more abstract students. Am going to make a list to put on my studio wall too! Thanks for sharing so much with all of us!

    Nicholas, Good insight. It’s like the theory of opposites. otherwise known as Yin and Yang. You have to do something different, even if it does not feel right, to really experience and know and appreciate what does feel right.

    EXCELLENT! Thanks for all your giving of what you have experienced and learned on YOUR journey! Sometimes I feel sorry for people that are not in the arts…..it seems their life would be missing so many new experiences! I just started listening to the audio book HAMILTON. IT EXPLAINS HOW IT ALL CAME ABOUT AND THE CREATIVE PROCESS. ……Really so similar to the painter.
