We recommend that you fly into Menara Airport (the call letters are RAK), as that is the closest airport to Marrakesh and takes about 30 minutes to the Jnane Tamsna by shuttle (cost is approximately $40). You can also fly into Casablanca Airport (the call letters are CMN), but please know that the shuttle time to Jnane Tamsna is approximately 2 hours (cost is $150). Shuttle service to Jnane Tamsna is available for interested parties from both airports and schedule will be provided once we are two weeks away from the start of the workshop for those who would like to use this service.

While the room check in time for the rooms at Jnane Tamsna is 2:30pm, please note that you are more than welcome to arrive earlier and wait at the property until your room is prepared. As for the last day of the workshop, should you have a flight departure in the late afternoon or evening, you are more than welcome to wait at Jnane Tamsna so long as you are checked out of your room by 11:00am.

Jnane Tamsna recommends having around $200 – 300 (€180 – 270) for shopping, taxis to town depending on your desire to explore and for staff tips. The local currency is Dirham but more places including the hotel accept US dollars and Euros. Most places take credit and debit cards with the exception of the market in Marrakech – many vendors prefer cash.

Jnane Tamsna prides itself in offering quality, organic, healthy meals, served in a style influenced by Moroccan and Mediterranean flavors. Jnane Tamsna is also known for the freshness of its cuisine, using fruits and vegetables harvested from their very own gardens; additional ingredients are sourced from the local markets.  While we try to accommodate as many dietary restrictions as possible, for this workshop we can only accommodate gluten free and vegetarian requests.

As for the property, be certain to avail yourself of its many lush gardens and pools, so be certain to bring a bathing suit! On that note, please bring clothes suited for warm weather. Temperatures in Marrakesh in October are expected to be around the mid 80’s (around 30 degrees Celsius). Please not that we will be painting outdoors near the pool!  At Jnane Tamsna all rooms are air-conditioned and there is wifi available throughout the property.

Workshop Itinerary
The schedule below represents an average workshop day:

8:00am: Breakfast
9:30am to 12:30pm: Workshop
1:00pm to 2:00pm: Lunch
2:00pm to 3:00pm: Break
3:00pm to 6:30pm: Workshop
7:00pm to 9:00pm: dinner
9:00pm onwards: After hours studio time

Art Materials
One of the hallmarks of any Art2life workshop is the Art Kit, which is provided to each workshop attendee and contains everything you need to enjoy the workshop. Please note that your Art2life Art Kit, if you are traveling to Jnane Tamsna by plane, MUST be checked as luggage; you cannot carry it onto the plane. To learn what each Art Kit contains, just click here. If there are art materials you would like to bring that are not included in the art kit, then we certainly encourage you to do so.

The weight of the art kit is around 19 lbs. Art Kits will be mailed to each workshop attendee at least 1 month prior to the start of the workshop. Please be sure to bring all materials we sent in your kit.

WORKSHOP COST AND ACCOMMODATIONS. This workshop will have only 50 participants and will be taught by Nick and two Art2Life coaches.  There are five rooming options at Jnane Tamsna: single occupancy, double garden occupancy, double occupancy, triple garden occupancy and triple occupancy. Single occupancy rooms have a single bed and a shared bathroom between two single rooms, double occupancy rooms have two beds, and triple occupancy beds have three beds. The cost breakdown for these rooming options are as follows:

Single Occupancy Room: $6480
Double Occupancy Garden Room: $5200
Double Occupancy Room: $5000
Triple Occupancy Garden Room: $4400
Triple Occupancy Room: $4200

Please note that all shared accommodations are co-ed, unless specified otherwise.  The fees above cover full room and board. It does not cover shuttle transportation between Jnane Tamsna, RAK and CMN. Once you register for the workshop, we will provide more details on booking the shuttle service for you at an additional cost. Workshop participants are responsible for incidentals not included in the above price.

Spaces are reserved for those individuals who will be participating in the workshop. Please also note that this workshop is not suitable for individuals with limited or impaired mobility.

To register for this workshop, we require a 1/3rd payment of the total fee. The 2nd payment (1/3rd the full amount) is processed 30 days after your initial sign up date; the 3rd and final payment is processed 60 days after your initial sign up.  All fees must be paid in full prior to the start of the workshop.  Please be aware that this amount includes a $500 deposit that is non-refundable.  If you decide to drop out, we ask that you notify us immediately.  If we find a replacement for your spot, you will be refunded the difference of the amount you have paid less the $500 deposit. If we are unable to find a replacement for your spot, you will be responsible for paying the full workshop fee.
