Discovering Miro

I just had the pleasure of visiting the Juan Miro Museum in Spain and I wanted to share the experience with you. I was practically the only one in the there!

Such an amazing artist, and getting to see his work in person was better than I could have imagined.

In gratitude, Nicholas

There’s another Miro museum/gallery in Barcelona which I have visited several times – I love his work – so bold, simple and expressive .

Thank you Nick ! it’s a very inspiring video, in each detail I can see exactly what you teach about making a painting “interesting” by creating differences of shapes, contrast, size, colour, texture etc. Great also to see the pictures of Miro in his studio !

    • Nicholas Wilton on October 22, 2017 at 3:37 am

Hi Meryem! Hope you are doing well!

Wonderful to see these paintings again Nicholas! I got back from Mallorca just yesterday. Spending time with Miro’s wonderful work was a real highlight of my visit… I also loved his wall drawings at Son Bot, in the grounds of the Miro Foundation… something vulnerable and intensely moving about them…

    • Nicholas Wilton on October 22, 2017 at 3:35 am

I did not see those drawings… I will be back..

    • Nicholas Wilton on October 22, 2017 at 3:33 am

So glad it resonates…it is funny but sometimes you never know quite for sure if people will react like I do–that is fine but feels great when others see it too!

Hi Nicholas, the museum is magical and in such a wonderful location with breath taking views. Barcelona is a beautiful city and full of wonderful architecture and art … Gaudi’s work is … well it all blew my mind when visited this great place. I managed to go up to the northern part of Catelonia to see Dali’s museum … now THAT is something else! Jill 🙂

  28. Mary Brown on October 23, 2017 at 8:31 am

  29. Stephanie Dalton on October 23, 2017 at 8:42 pm

Heah Nick was he working on canvas? Looks like it. What a great experience to see his work up close and personal

  30. Phyllis Jenkins on October 23, 2017 at 11:43 pm

I love that you took time to share this. I also love that you noticed how sections of the larger paintings could stand alone on their own. AND what a trip seeing these now, after taking you class and being in Art2Life Academy…I see his paintings in a whole new way. Fabulous. Thank you.
