Simple trick to hang a large painting without help

Today, I want to share a trick I use to hang a large painting on the wall by myself. I’m often in the studio alone, which means there’s usually no one around to help with the heavy lifting.

Even though I’ve got a big wingspan, reaching across the entire piece is tough. And getting down on the floor? That’s just too awkward.

I used to stack cans to help lift it, but I’ve found a much better way that makes it super easy.

It’s a little tricky, especially with heavier pieces like the hardwood-and-canvas paintings I work with, but once you know the trick, it’s totally doable.

Today in Sunday’s Bloom, I’ll show you how it works.

Let me know what you think about this little hack of mine in the comments below. Also, please share if you’ve found any clever ways to hang a heavy piece when you’re working alone.

Hope you get out and make some art today. I’ll talk to you real soon.
