Today, I want to talk about changing your art, and why it’s so hard, especially when the painting’s already kind of working.
There’s something good happening in it, and then… You have to mess it up.
That’s where I’m at with this one. There are some beautiful textures underneath, rich color, things I really like – and still, it needs to change.
Today in Sunday’s Bloom, I’ll show you how it works.
Sometimes the change throws the whole thing off.
It looks worse.
Disjointed. Out of balance.
And yet… you have to do it. That’s what makes the work stronger. You have to push it past the edge of what feels comfortable to get to the next level.
One thing that helps? A trowel. They’re simple but so useful – and I absolutely love using them.
So I thought it’d be fun to give one away this week! These are from Italy and are available in the Art2Life store.
To enter, go to @art2life_world on Instagram and share this week’s Sunday BLOOM video to your Instagram Stories and tag us! We’ll choose one person and announce the winner next week.
Hope you get to make some art this week.
