Last week, I shared a shortcut I use to bring energy into a painting fast. Just a few bold moves, and suddenly something starts to happen.
But what about after that first burst of momentum?
This week, I’m picking up where we left off, taking that same painting and showing what happens after a few hours in. How I start to refine the raw beginning without losing the energy that made it come alive in the first place.
It’s a tricky phase. You have to make stronger, more thoughtful choices… but still stay as free as you were when you started.
In today’s Sunday Bloom, I’m sharing how that looks (and feels) in the studio right now, as I work toward my upcoming show.
Let me know in the comments – how do you move past the beginning stages of a piece?
It’s such a fascinating place in the process.
Thanks so much for being here.

P.S. I’ll be sharing more of this journey over the next few months, especially inside the Creative Visionary Program.
P.P.S. I also wanted to let you know I’m hitting pause on the podcast for now so I can focus fully on the work for my upcoming show in August – and on the amazing community of artists inside the Program.
I’ll see you soon. In the meantime, keep creating, stay curious, and remember to get out and make some art.
