After years and years of making art, I’ve come to a conclusion that might surprise you.
At the center of everything that feels amazing in life… is your art.
Not success. Not recognition. Not even selling your work.
Your art. The real stuff. The work that feels like you.
For too many years, I made art I thought I had to make. Art I thought other people wanted me to make. And you know what? It was pretty good. But it wasn’t giving me that energy, that aliveness I was searching for.
That’s what I’m talking about on today’s Sunday BLOOM! I share why chasing the art you really love is life-changing, and the two incredible things that happen when you finally make work that feels like you.
I also share a story about someone who was copying my work once—outright stealing it. And you know what I told him? It wasn’t about protecting my work. It was about what he was missing.
Speaking of making work that feels like you…
I’m super excited to announce something I’ve never offered before. This August, we’re doing a 2.5-day retreat called The Business of Art Immersion.
It’s happening right here in Sausalito, August 19-21, 2025, in my studio and the Art2Life headquarters. We’ll be diving deep into clarifying your artistic direction, sharing my social marketing system that actually gives you energy instead of draining it, and helping you understand how to bring your art out into the world in a way that feels authentic.
This isn’t about creating paintings—it’s about looking at your work, diagnosing what you need to do next, and keeping that creative energy flowing.

Here’s what I want to know: What piece of this resonated with you today? What did you need to hear about making the art you really love?
Let me know in the comments after you watch the video.
The stakes are high to chase the work you really love. It’s a life-changing pursuit.
Talk soon,
Nicholas
